[blparent] question of napping

At 5 weeks, she should be sleeping more than she is awake.

I am not saying taking her out is bad, cause it is not, but at her age, that
was a lot of stimulation for her, the sights, sounds, smells. She was
probably happy, but it wares a baby out mentally, and causes them to be
fussy.

Subject: [blparent] question of napping

Hi.

We've noticed a small pattern with Leah and I'm wondering if you guys have
any thoughts on this.

It seems that if she doesn't get her afternoon nap, she has a bit of a
meltdown that night. I thought this only happened when they were a bit
older and not at 5 weeks but if this is the case, do you have any tips on
getting her to nap during the day?

I think the time is coming up for us to start a bedtime routine, or at least
I've read that this can begin around the 6 week mark or close to it.

We did take her out today on two walks and ran a couple of errands so maybe
that was too much activity for her but she seemed to be happy in the
stroller and the sling we got.

Thanks for the info.

Scott
