[blparent] challenges with dressing an infant

I didn't dress my daughter in two piece outfits 'til she was at least 6
months old and a little less wiggly, if I could help it anyway.
Just depends what the temperature is like, where you live. Gabriella was
born in May, so we had all summer to wear cute, one-piece rompers and body
suits and things like that. When it got cold, I put the zip up sleepers on
her because I couldn't trust that socks would stay on her feet. LOL. She
hated her feet covered and socks would inevitably come off.
Trying to remember how I dealt with actually putting clothes on her when she
was constantly flailing her limbs around. I know whenever she needed a
diaper change, at least 'til she got used to lying still, I'd sit on the
floor and lay her down between my knees, which were bent with my feet flat
on the ground, and hold her arms with my bare toes. I didn't press down hard
or anything, just enough to keep her arms in place. My hands did the rest of
it, and it got to where we could change her without her moving around much.
I think holding her in your lap to put clothes on her is a good idea. You
could sit her facing away from you and that might help the pants to stay on
while you're trying to finish getting them on.
