On the same token, when some people are having trouble keeping their
children from unwanted hands, I had completely the opposite situation this
weekend. A friend of ours has a baby, 8 months old and everytime this mom
sees me, she feels the need to leave her baby with me. Not that I mind now
and then, but not all the time. Like at our girl scout extraganza Friday
evening. She came over, plopped her baby into my arms and disappeared for
the rest of the afternoon. She was there, but she made no effort to come
reclaim her child. Then when dad got there, he didn't feel the need to take
his child back either. So my husband and I shared this little one, passing
him back and forth while we ate.
Then on Sunday, gab and I went to a birthday party for another friend and
this couple was also invited. Well, some where along the course of the
evening, Sammy ended up with me and there he stayed until I finally told dad
that he was hungry and then dad took him. When baby was done eating, dad
came looking for me, but I had moved on and was busy playing a game with the
older girls. V
