Hi Eric. I have some ideas of how you can hand out these books without
becoming solicitus. Please write me off list and we'll discuss it. Thanks.
Leslie

Subject: [blparent] Parenting Without Sight: What Attorneys And Social
Workers Should Know About Blindness

Hi people, did any of you read Gary Wunder's article in the Braille Monitor?
It was about Erika Johnson and Blake Sinnett trying to get back Mikaela from
from Child Protective Services after 57 days. This outrages me! And I'm
sure it does to all of you. I've heard that Missouri, the "Show Me State,"
didn't help their cause by sqpeeding up the custody process. I hear that
NFB has booklets called: Parenting Without Sight:
What Attorneys and Social Workers Should Know About Blindness. However, I
need to know the cost of these booklets. Also, I plan to hand these
booklets out at hospitals. Why do I want to do this as a Christmas project?
Because I would like to educate. So here's my question to you, as an
independent advocate for the blind, who is blind myself: How do I hand these
booklets out without soliciting? I know what the message is in these
booklets, so how can I convey it without stepping on attorneys' and social
workers' shoes?

Any help from any of you, on or off-list, would be greatly appreciated.

Eric
