Hi Melissa. Yes, he's teething. I use the the kind of spoon with the
rubber tip. It's the smaller kind called Munchkin. No, I have not tried
finger food with him yet.

Subject: [blparent] Feeding Issue

Hello Leslie,

Sorry, I haven't seen all of the messages about this, so maybe someone has
all ready mentioned this. But, for what it's worth.

Is Michael teething? Also, what type of spoon are you using
to feed him? I know when Austin was teething it grew harder to feed him for
a while, and he absolutely would not eat from a metal spoon. When I got
plastic spoons the fussing and pulling away stopped. Also, will he pick any
food up with his hands yet and feed himself? There are some great finger
foods for babies that are small and are easy to gum; Gerber makes some and
they are called Gerber Puffs. They come in all kinds of flavors and are
fairly healthy. Of course you can always try other things that would be
soft enough for him to eat. I certainly would not make every feeding time a
battle. If he is fighting you hard and really jerking his head away and
screaming, I'd wait for a while and try again.

Hope this helps.

Melissa
