To keep the state happy, if you do need or want to shower with the baby,
put a swimsuit on so you are covered and do it that way. You can also do
this if you get in the tub with the baby.

Hi Michael,
I don't think our state or our agency would look too highly on us
putting a baby in the shower with us.
Many children in the foster care system have been abused... In many
different ways... I'm not saying that bathing a baby with you is abuse
itself, but...

The baby would not fit in our bathroom sink, as our faucit it too low.
The kitchen sink would be great (as long as no dishes are crowding the
way). :-)
I'm nervous about the actual bathtub idea itself until the baby is too
big for a baby bathtub of course.
Thanks, and have a great week!

In Christ, Miranda

Exactly why we do not use one, they get in the way, and are a bigger
problem
than they are worth. I know this does not answer your question, but this
is
what we do.
Bathe in the kitchen sink: works better when the baby can sit up on
their
own, still do this with my 2 year old if she needs a quick bath.
Bathe in the bathroom sink: it has sloped sides, so we just line the
sink
with a towel and set the baby on the towel and bathe away.
Lay a folded towel on the bottom of the tub and bathe the baby there.
Tub
bottoms are sloped some, so point the baby's feet towards the drain.
Might
not be good if your baby is prone to ear infections, because the baby is
not
sitting up as much as in a baby bath tub, so water gets in the ears
more.
This is the favorite of my 4 month old, she could kick and splash for
hours
if I let her.
Take the baby in the shower with you. The baby does get a little
slippery,
so more care is needed. This was the favorite of our 4 year old.

Michael

Hi,
Ok, our bathroom and kitchen cubbards aren't big enough to hold our baby
bathtub... Darn it!
At this point, my only (be it inconvenient) option is to put it in the
nursery closet. This is all the way across the house and upstairs. Yes,
I
said it's inconvenient... ;-) Obviously, I'll do this if I need to, but
I
thought I'd come to you for ideas.
We don't have a hall closet on the first floor either.
Thanks for all your help. You are all so wonderful!

In Christ, Miranda
