You can also try oatmeal cereal. Also, you can probably skip the cereal
altogether though I'd check on that with the appropriate medical person.

Using your finger to feed is a great idea.

I agree.  Austin did not like rice cereal by itself at all.  Our
pediatrician recommended we mix the cereal with baby food.  She wanted
him
to have the cereal for the first year because it's another source of
calcium.  I can't remember how much she recommended he have each day,
but I
would measure it out and mix it into his baby food.  This worked really
well
and also helped to thicken the food a bit which made it a little easier
to
feed to Austin.

He may not like rice sereal. My daughter didn't. You can also get oat
sereal

and combos of different grains. Perhaps trying a different flavor, or
mixing

something in, like a very small amount of pear or apple sauce. That
stuff 
tastes pretty bland.
