Hello:

For those of you who don't know, the Independence market sells a
Count-a-dose. This device is used by diabetics to set how much insulin they
need. If the syringe fits, it out to work for other measures.

Regards,

Robert

This is an interesting technique I never thought of. Thanks for sharing.

Another thing I have just started doing is using one of my fingers as a
guide to measuring the syringe. My husband showed me how far to pull the
syringe and I just put it against my pointer finger and memorized the spot
where it went up to on my finger. Then every time I want to measure I just
pull the plunger to that part on my finger. I had my husband check the
accuracy of this and he said I got it right every time.
Hope this helps.

One way is to first talk to your child's doctor and explain your visual
impairment and see if the medication can be given in crushable pablets that
you could mix with water. This may not work because the dosage is based on
the child's weight. If this is so try to get a medication in liquid form
with the least amount of times the medication needs to be given. Then go to
your pharmacy, be real nice and explain to them your situation and ask if it

would be posible if the medication could be portioned out into individual
dosages. You then can take that dosage and add a small amount of water like
1 or 2 ounces (no need to be exact) it just needs to ve an amount that he
will drink in a single sitting and put into a bottle. I did this a few
months ago for my daughter's ear infection and everyone was very helpful in
getting this done. I got a liquid medication that was one doce a day for 5
days and the pharmicy put each dose into small bottles and all I had to do
was to add some water and gave it to her in her bottle which she sucked down

with no problem. Just remember that there can be multiple medications with
different dosage rates (1-4 times a day for certain number of days) that do
the same thing so make sure that you are absolutly sure that you get the
best medication for your situation before you leave the doctor's office. I
have used both the syringe method and this one and both are great.
