Just tell her you're having a hard time letting your little girl grow up but 
let her treck home alone ... you don't want to start out embarrassing her 
the first couple days of school!!  I know it's hard ... if it makes you feel 
better and you can afford it ... buy her a cheap cell phone with a preset 
amount of minutes on it, then you know if there are any problems ... she can 
call you.

I just wanted to tell you that Gab is starting midschool tomorrow.  This is
a bit scarey for me as we now live in walking distance, no more buses for
us.
I and a couple of mom's will walk a group of kids to the new school but the
flipside, they want to walk home alone.  I want to go meet them, but they
already told me they are now midschoolers and want to walk home alone.
I know in a couple of weeks this will be old hat, but right now, I am not
ready to untie the strings. V
