Yeah, I'd let her pick which one she wants ... which will be the most 
expensive loaded ... lol, just kidding that's probably my kids and not 
yours.  But I'd take her with you because God forbid you get something 
*ugly* ... and then decide what she'll use it for, if only to call you and 
dad, if there are friends she's allowed to call, family, ... and as was 
mentioned before if texting is allowed or not, everyone's texting, although 
my son didn't really like it until recently.  Good luck.  and glad 
everything worked out yesterday!

I saw sevral different brands, some were $1 a day, some $2, some had
texting, some did not, some were a set amount per month.  Aaaah!  So many
options.  I'll figure it out tomorrow.  Gonna take my hubby with me and let
him pick.

You can buy phones at Walmart or Target and then just do what it says to
turn them on ... can't remember what my son's was for sure.

I did the prepaid cell phone thing. my daughter use to walk a block to
school and she would call me once leaving the school and talk to me all the
way to the front door. I enjoyed this a lot. it gave her the independence
she needed and the comfort I needed to know she was ok.
