[blparent] Independence

Robert has a good point. A training center might be right for some people,
but if you can't get that kind of intensive training, you can learn a lot
because you want to, or because you have to. Could you propose to your
parents that you take on the responsibility of cooking dinner for everyone
two or three nights a week? There are lots of cookbooks and easy recipes
out there, and even cooking e-mail lists with other blind users. Could you
take on one bathroom to clean or one room to vacuum, so you get practice?
Might be a way to start.

"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself--nameless, unreasoning,
unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into
advance."--Franklin D. Roosevelt
