[blparent] swing recommendation

I'm confused. Brandi, do you have children? I ask because I think I remember a post saying that you were a nanny. In that case, let the parents provide the swing, it's their kid and their house.
If you're purchasing for a daycare, I'd get one that can withstand lots of use, probably the cradle swing others mention.
And, confession time, I cried when my daughter outgrew her bouncy seat. She didn't use it much, it was mostly justa nice place to put her down. It is also the seat from which she first gave Daddy the finger. She had no clue what she was doing, because she was like a month old, but oh was that funny!
If you share why you want or need to make this purchase, maybe we can advise better?

I would hesitate to buy a big ticket item like a swing until just before
baby comes. That way, if he or she hates it, you can return it, and use that
money for things you'll actually use. In our case, Elise loved her swing. It
was the only thing she'd sleep in for the longest time, and when she outgrew
it, I thought I'd need a support group. However, her bouncy seat was a
different story. We probably used it 5 times. She just hated it, and wanted
nothing to do with it. Other parents have reported the exact opposite set of
circumstances to me.
