I never thought of that.
Babies can use a dog to help them stand and they can grip a dog's skin
(my nephew did) and while i found a safe place for my dog, at the
time, he was so gentle that i forgot about it.
He is gettign older and his temperment can change.
But, then, I could use my long couch to block off a segment of the
front room for him.
I don't have the same couch or house.
