Nikki, Jo Elizabeth gives sound advice. Your son may be 5 now, but what 
happens when he's not too many years older and stronger than you. I can 
appreciate that you are in your parents' house and probably dependent on 
them, perhaps for transportation and things, so may not be able to do with 
your son what you may want, but it sounds like both you and he need some 
pretty significant help.
