Hi Janel,

Welcome to the list. I can’t answer your formula question as I haven’t used formula in forever, but probably Brandy or Lesly or Molissa can, as they care for small children. But your carseat question...Does your carseat have slots on the top, just where the seat starts to incline? If so you will be able to slide the seat belt through the slots and then buckle it that way. If not, then you will need an extra base. I got stung when my son was little, I bought a peg perego that didn’t have the slots and had to go out and buy a newer model because I already had the whole travel system. I think, though I’m not sure, that most new car seats have the slots in them so you will most likely be able to buckle it in the car that way. I always prefer not having to lug around an extra base, we have enough to lug around with our kids. smile

Subject: [blparent] New Here With Questions

Hello Listers:
I am so glad to come across this site!
I am a first time mother of a seven week old boy and am adjusting pretty well to motherhood.
When I return to work in a few weeks, I will be traveling by taxi cab and wanted to know if I should buy an additional base for the car seat. I already have one that is in my mother's car since she does most of the driving for me.

I also had questions about measuring formula. My baby takes 4 ounces, and all of the bottles that I have are either 4 ounces of 9 ounces. He will be graduating to five ounces and I wanted to know how to measure out five ounces.
Look forward to your responses.
Thanks
Janel
