[blparent] toys toys toys!

Hi. I know the feeling of getting overwhelmed by clothes and toys. I went
through recently and weeded out things that were broken, and also a few toys
that Sarah had outgrown, like shape sorters and such. What I did was just
observed for a week or two, and then took away what wasn't played with,
because I knew it wouldn't be missed.

One thing that I would suggest, though, is to provide toys that will
encourage imagination, as well as educational things. Sarah just turned
three, and right now her favorite toys are some plastic food, bought on
clearance at Wal-Mart, and some Fisher Price Little People toys--a zoo and a
barn with animals, Noah's Ark, and a house that makes sounds like the
doorbell and phone ringing. She spends hours in imaginary play, which I
think is as valuable as educational play, if not more so.

Good luck with the clutter!
Jo Elizabeth
