[blparent] travel questions for extended trip

Another thing, all car rentals, will provide you with a car seat already
buckled into the car. I loved that idea, since I didn't have to worry about
carrying mine with me. I didnn't feel the need to buckle her into the
airplane like I do in a car.
The one time and only time I took our booster, the airport lost it in
Georgia. V

Hi Dena,
I highly recommend checking out www.travelingwithkids.com for travel
products. I bought a Peapod bed for our camping trips. It's actually like
a little tent. It wasn't quite what I was looking for, but there may be
other products on there. I haven't looked in a while. They also have
wonderful travel toys that have come in handy for our trips. I like to have

new toys for trips, so they are new and keep their interest longer. I've
gotten magnetic sets, stickers, coloring activities, magic pen books, etc.
I bet you could find shows about going on vacation among the kids' shows,
especially shows like Caillou or other family-oriented shows.
As far as a stroller, we take our sit 'n stroll everywhere, and have never
taken an extra stroller. The less you have to take the better, and the sit
'n stroll serves the purpose of both stroller and car seat so you'll be all
set. Unless you plan to go on a hike in the woods, I think you'll be fine.
I recommend taking some of her favorite snacks. You'll have down time at
the airport, and 3 yr olds are really hard to contain. Food helps, and you
don't want to buy it at the airport, as you probably know. Even if she is
potty trained, I recommend a couple changes of clothes in your carry-on
luggage. My kids always seem to have more accidents, either with potty or
spills when we are flying somewhere. I also take a harness, because she'll
want to walk some while you are waiting in the airport, and places like that

make me nervous. Best to get her energy out there though so maybe she'll
rest or sit quietly on the plane.
I think that's it. Have a great trip.!
Leanne
