[blparent] i have a question about feeding babies baby food?

What I do with my son who's almost 7 months old now is I get a spoon full of
food with my right hand and then cup my left hand under the full spoon as
I'm bringing it to his mouth. As the spoon is approaching his face I put
out my index finger on my left hand to find his mouth and as soon as I find
the hanger in goes the air plane. Sometimes he turns his head quickly and
he gets food on his cheek but he has quickly learned that he has to be a
baby bird for mom if he wants the food to go in his mouth. Getting those
plastic bibs with the food catcher at the bottom are a heaven sent and easy
to hand wash as well.
Hope this helps.
Erin

Hello, yeah i noticed that when i put the food on my fingers she eats it
that way but i am trying to get her use to the spoon. When i have sighted
people come and feed her she does great. I think the problem is when i put
my hand in her face to find her mouth it freaks her out and so she doesn't
want to eat it. I am just trying everything to get her to eat baby food. I
also have a baby feeder that allows me to squeeze it on the a spoon and then
put it to her mouth. thanks for the suggestion!

Hi,
So I actually had this problem myself when feeding my baby when I started
him on baby food. The one thing my baby actually learned to do himself is
bring his mouth to the spoon once he understood the food was supposed to be
gotten off the spoon, so now when I feed him, I just scoop it up and hold it
close to his mouth and he pretty much does the rest. Also, a good thing to
do too is put the jar or bowl of food under his or her chin if you can
manage it so that way if the baby dribbles it won't get everywhere else,
just back in the dish.
Hope that helps

Hi,
Not sure if there is an easy way, but what I did was put the food on the
spoon and hold it where my thumb was underneath the edge, then use my other
hand to find her bottom lip. That way you can make necessary adustments as
the little one turns their head.
Hope that helps,
