I understand that the medical system in Canada, where Shannon lives, moves
considerably more slowly than it does here in the U.S.  I have a friend in
Canada who waited almost two years to have her gallbladder out, and several
months for a hernia surgery she needed.  Gerald knows a guy who was expected
to wait twelve days in Canada for angioplasty.  He was flown by helicopter
to Seattle instead.
