[blparent] ideas for traveling in the rain

Help!

It's starting to rain here in the Bay Area and I'm trying to figure
out the best way of commuting with Erik. Currently, I push/pull his
umbrella stroller which has a rain cover. I get concerned about the
puddles I may be rolling over, but I'm not sure I can totally avoid
that. But, if any one has ideas let me know.

My main concern though has to do with how parents keep themselves dry
while traveling. Do you use a stroller or choose to travel differetnly
in the rain? I don't have a third arm so using an umbrella doesn't
really work. I think hoods block hearing and you still get pretty wet.
Should I just get over it? What do you do?

I'm considering buckling him up in his carrier again on those rainy
days because it seems like it would keep him and I the driest. Or,
perhaps I might bring out the jogging stroller and commute with that
instead of the umbrella stroller. Again though, how do I keep myself
dry?

I have to say, I don't envy those of you in rainy/snowy places.

Thanks,
LM
