Personally I never found the ear nor the forhead ones to be very acurate.
Maybe it was the case of you have to be smarter than the thermometer ... I
always just bought a regular one and took the temp under his/her arm.
Keeping in mind under the arm you add a degree. I don't think in my search
of thermometers I've ever seen a rectal one.

Subject: [blparent] talking thermometers?
Hi everyone,
I know there are talking oral/axillary thermometers, but for an infant, of
course, the most accurate method is up the bottom. Are there any talking
rectal thermometers out there, and if so, where can they be found? If not,
is it ok to use an ear thermometer, and if so, do talking ones exist, and
where can they be found?
Thanks for any help you can give. We're going to start stocking up on things
we'll need.
