Swings? SLides? oh dear lord, what is it with people nowadays? I went on
plenty of swings and slides and only got hurt once, because I went on the
big kid's slide when I wasn't big enough and hurt my back, but it was
nothing permanent. Just shifted something out of place. I've never gotten
hurt on a swing, except when one of my school "friends" shoved me off when
it was pretty high up and I messed my hands up. But when I did it properly,
I was fine. Why are people so sue-happy nowadays, and wanting their kids to
do zero in the way of physical activity?
Nowadays, ever since I got seriously hurt doing a rock climbing activity in
school, none, and I mean none, of the children that are even borderline
special services are allowed to do anything for phys ed other than jump on a
one-foot-high trampalene, bounce a ball or walk. Not run, walk. Or, they can
sit and read. That tells me that the obescity epidemic ain't always the
parents' fault!
