[blparent] Sensitive breast feeding concern, ladies only

I completely agree. Nursing is great. Even though it was a struggle, I
wouldn't trade it for the world. But just because about half of my baby's
caloric intake came from formula, give or take, and just because a lot of
her feedings were from a bottle, didn't mean I couldn't bond with her.
Bonding is an ongoing process. It may start with holding and cuddling a
baby, but it still goes on as your child grows up, when you sit and snuggle
with him or her, do a bedtime story and a good night kiss, play games,
laugh, answer questions, and on and on. Sarah and I had an awesome bonding
moment this morning when we sat on the porch swing and watched the birds
eating from our new feeder. A breast may be a good starting point, but it
is definitely not crucial.
