Entitlement, that is a good word.  The more you get, the less grateful you are.

I wish I could say it could be taught. I can think of any number of kids including my nieces and nephews who seem to have that problem, but then there are adults who seem to view the world the same way-I call it an entitlement mentality. Perhaps it is an attitude that will change over time.
