[blparent] leashes and harnesses

These are the ones I hunted all over to find too. I use them with my
toddler who is a year and a half. I haven't read through this whole thread
so forgive me if I'm repeating folks. My son hasn't learned yet to keep
hold of my hand in places, although he's getting better, and those little
hands slip out of your grip quick as a flash. So I got him a leash, I've
used it in the stores, at a birthday party at the pool, in our front yard
where it's not fenced in. People may think it's mean but there I am, dog in
one hand and kid in the other, and I'd rather be keeping track of my son
than worrying what others may think. Also comes in handy at the doctor's
office and such where you have to wait, it bugs the heck out of me when kids
are running around all over the place in places like that.

The one I had had 2 bands/straps that came over the shoulders and the leash
snapped on near the small of the back. I like this one best. It kind of
reminded me of a vest, but it was all open and only the straps were visible.
I haven't heard good things about the wrist bands, but I guess it all
depends on how hard you have to pull your child. V

Subject: [blparent] leashes and harnesses

Hi All,

So, I ordered two wrist-to-wrist leashes the other day. My hubby and I
purchased a leash attached to a harness with a cute little elephant on top.
But, I have some questions though.

Anyone prefer a certain type of leash/harness?

I think I'll prefer the wrist leashes but purchased a harness with an animal
on it because I might want my son's hands free to play and what not.

We checked out reviews online about Jeep brand harnesses and they had bad
reviews. Apparently, the leash hooks to the top of the harness so if the kid
spins around they get their necks wrapped up. Anyone like any brand that
won't strangle my kid?

Also, what do you all think of the harnesses that are just a plain harness,
no backpack, no cute animal?

Thanks for any commentary. I like to accessorize so I see myself and my son
using a few different leashes/harnesses.

Regards,
LM
