I did back when I was a teenager.
It was fine, I dyed it blonde.
I remember the dye stung, but for that time at least, it was worth it.
It was also time consuming, and you'll want to wear something that you won't care if it gets stained.
You'll want to know how long the dye lasts, and reapply before the roots start to show.
