But don't you know, the scouts like selling cookies.  If nothing else, it
teaches them to be responsible with the order forms and then again in
collecting money. Gab has learned tons from this activity.

I don't know that, but it is about 7 hundred million dollars raised, and the
girl Scouts actually receive a small portion of the cookie sales. They would
be better off if everyone who would buy cookies would just donate $3.50.
But, I guess it is that way with most fund raisers. The organization gets
little of the proceeds. But the same people that will buy stuff for fund
raisers wouldn't donate a single dime to the same organization, they want
something for their money.

I read somewhere that the money raised from Girl Scouts selling cookies is
just about enough each year to ensure every girl and leader on their trips
and activities.
