[blparent] Sit'n'stroll, one more time

Ok guys, I'm so sorry, because I know I've emailed on this topic a
couple of times.  I am really concerned about safety and am looking
for anyone who has been in a similar situation or could answer my
questions.

Background:  I am blind, but my husband is sighted.  Originally, we
had planned to use the Sit'n'stroll as our permanent stroller, but
only use it as a car seat for when I was with others or using public
transportation.  A friend gave us a car seat that we planned to use
permanently in the car.

Well, we bought the Sit'n'Stroll.  Turns out, the gift car seat is for
babies 20-80 lbs.  Now all we have to take the baby home from the
hospital and use up to 20 lbs is the Sit'n'stroll.

My first question is, has anyone ever used it to take their baby home
from the hospital?  I have been told that hospitals won't allow a baby
to go home in that car seat, because it isn't a carrier one.  Others
have said the carrier seat isn't required, but there is no neck
support so it wouldn't be good for a baby who can't hold his head up
and therefore the hospital won't let you take him home in it.  My
thought is, if it were made for a baby 5-40 lbs, wouldn't it be able
to serve this purpose?

My other concerns are from reviews I just read on Amazon from many,
many parents.  The positive reviews all talk about travel, but that it
isn't good for permanent use.  One reason they sight is how difficult
it is to install.  Others say it isn't sturdy and wouldn't hold up in
a car accident.

So, like I said, I'm really concerned, and spending more money on
another car seat is not easy for us, but if I have to I will.  Can
anyone shed some light on my concerns/questions?
