I would come up with an immediate consequence for Myles, one that happens 
every time he runs away.  For Sarah, it was going straight inside and 
sitting on the stairs, usually for five minutes.  The stairs are a boring 
place to sit because there's nothing to see.  But anyway, Myles needs to 
know that running off and not answering isn't tolerated, period.  For people 
who believe in spanking, running across the road a dangerous situation that 
could justify a swat on the bottom.  But don't spank him if he answers or 
comes to you, because then you're only teaching him not to answer or come 
when called.
