I think it's actually a bit of both. I sometimes read the message boards on 
www.whattoexpect.com, and there are always women on their complaining about 
how some family member or other is trying to take over parenting the baby. 
But I think blindness can increase the chance that we'll have to put up with 
something like that.

Jo Elizabeth I agree--the relationship doesn't need to be broken off over a 
piece of cake. But I would definitely have a discussion with her about the 
fact that you make the rules.
