Hi Si,

Firstly Congratulations on having a beautiful little girl.

Secondly. I would like to take a few moments to introduce myself to you and
explain my situation that I'm dealing with my daughter is almost nineteen
old. She'll will be turning two in mid October.

My is Jessica Trask. I live in Claremont New Hampshire. Where I'm dealing
with DCYF whom has custody of my daughter. My daughter has been in foster
care for a year and half. I've been really blessed that she been with the
same foster family since she's been four days old.

What are some of the blindness-related safety persecutions you took when
your child started to crawl or walk?
I didn't really have to deal with this because she wasn't in my full
custody. Up until recently she was three months behind on crawling and
walking. I just try and pay attention to where she's at by listening to
make sure that she's not going to get hurt. Unfortunately, this didn't work
the other day because she fell into the corner of door which gave her a bit
of a bump on her head. I would have been a bit more concerned but she had
already done that several times that day. We believe that this is happening
whenever she has a growth spurt. Just make sure stuff is out of your
daughter's reach and that you put bells or something on her shoes or attach
them to her some other way that should be good enough.

How did you teach your child that pointing at objects and saying what's
that doesn't work for you?
My daughter hasn't done this yet with me. I don't even think she's gotten
the far with the educator that she works with from the early intervention
program that I was involved with her working with. At this point in time my
daughter is very verbal yet anyways. I believe that my daughter realizes
that I can't see very well, so I don't think that she would point at

How did you teach your child his or her colors?
I don't believe my daughter's that far along yet. But, if I had full
custody of her I would read to her watching educational television shows
and the computer.

How do you know when your child has bruise or abrasion?
I would just check my daughter over to make sure she doesn't have any
bruise or abrasions because they would be a reason for someone to call
Child protective services on you.
B. How do you treat the area without being able to see it?
I have enough sight to where I would be able to see area and treat it. If I
had a fully sighted person around then I ask them to please dou

How did you respond to an emergency?
Call 911 and tell them what is or what has happened. Also, the number handy
for poison control as well because if there is a chance that your daughter
could get into something that is poisionst where a call to if calling 911
doesn't work.

Are there any special devices or adaptive technology that you use to make
caring for your child easier?
I don't really have any special devices or adaptive technology that I was
using to make take care of my daughter easier. However, once she out grow
size and size diapers I started buying the Slip on diaper that you can get
now and also recently starting buying training pants as well. This made it
easier for me when it came time to change her diaper because with both of
these item I could either put them on as a regular part diaper or a part of
underwear.

How do you measure your child's liquid medicine when they are ill?
Once again I didn't generally have to worry about this because my daughter
never really got sick very much.
