[blparent] Ayla Update

I feel for you and all the other parents that go through things like this.
The only thing that ever happened to me, was our neighbor called the city on
me because I had a few weeds growing in my front yard, she told them because
I was blind, I couldn't clean my yard. When the city came to talk to me,
he told me that my neighbor complained and he then saw she had more weeds
than anyone else. He cited her, not me. I had 3 weeds groing under a bush
and that was because it had been raining and we just so happened to miss
them when pulling out the rest. Sheesh, some people should mind their own
business. v

Yes, you are correct on all accounts. Our situation happened with our first
child....a neighbor who just doesn't understand and who had it out for us
and made a false report....saying that my husband, who is wheelchair bound
and myself being legally blind cannot keep our child safe. We were under a
microscope for 3 months and were told not to leave the county for 3 months.
We were grilled for about an hour by a CPS who also had her own
misconceptions/prejudices....borderlining on harassment. We felt imprisoned
in our own home...wondering who made the claim. We very rarely took our son
outside to play during this time during those 3 months. We found out about 6
months later who made the report...it was very unsettling.

That was then, and this is now....15 years and 3 kids later. All are fine
young men/ teens. Sometimes I still get a little angered, especially when I
hear of other parents with disabilities, blindness related, or other.

centuries, but apparently some people just don't want to drag themselves out
of the dark ages. I thank God for the people here in our town who have
worked with us to make sure CPS never has to enter our home.
