Meeting a life partner is not a simple thing. Not for blind people and
not for sighted people either. It involves being in the same place at
the same time as someone who you love and who loves you equally, and
who wants the same things in life that you want. If it were easy,
online dating sites would not exist or at least would not be as
profitable and numerous as they are. I think finding a life partner is
much more complicated than pursuing a course of study or a career,
because meeting a life partner depends on both you and that other
person. Add blindness into the equation and you will find that some
sighted folks unfortunately won't consider you as a possible partner
for them, so that limits your options. I am blessed to be in a
wonderful relationship now, but before that I, like most people,
struggled to find someone who I both wanted to be with and who also
wanted to be with me. I completely agree that it is easiest to find a
partner after you have become comfortable with yourself first.
Best,
Arielle
