[blparent] Pulling Strollers

Melissa, if someone were to come up to your baby you'd hear them. Sighted
people can have unfounded fears on our behalf. The fact is that most
children are abducted by people known to them. Yes certainly there are cases
where this is not the case but really, it's highly unlikely that someone
will come up to your stroller in broad daylight where they can be seen by
all and take your baby.

I really do sense your frustration. There's support out there. Feel free to
email me off-list at

Because I have others I can connect you to who are resourceful. There's lots
of great resources on this list too so let the good ideas begin.

Michelle

Subject: [blparent] Pulling Strollers

Hi,
As some of you know I have a baby on the way. My mother this morning told me
that she thinks that if I would to pull the stroller behind me would make my
baby at risk. Meaning I guess someone could come up and take them. It's
makes me feel like I am going to have to fear people come up to me. In some
ways question can I do this? My husband however has no problem with me doing
what I need to take are child to and from places on my own. Oh mom did ask
if there any training for O&M for blind parents. Sorry had to vent after
being upset this morning.
Thanks guys!
Melissa
