I won't go in to all the reasons I hate guns, but as for children using 
them, I suppose the logic of it would depend on how prevalent they are 
in their lives. If the parents own guns, I guess kids should be exposed 
to them and taught gun safety and how and how not to use them at as 
early an age as possible. But someone told me a story once about a 
child who had grown up with guns and accidentally shot someone when she 
took out the gun without permission. Teaching them gun safety does not 
always guarantee that they'll use their heads and obey the rules.
