So then, what specific challenges happen, from a parental perspective, when 
the children are grown?  I'm curious because I could write a book on the 
challenges from the viewpoint of a grown child--probably not a book worth 
reading, but that's another point altogether.

Why? The relationship changes but you don't stop being a parent just because 
a date on a calendar hits or a milestone happens
