Welcome to this list. I am also legally blind and have been since birth...ONH.  I have 3 teenage boys.  I used to hide also...I know what it is like.  I came out of my shell a few years ago.  Maybe, we can share stories off list sometime.  Let me know.  My e-mail is jezu36 at yahoo.com.

I am a legally blind parent of 2 girls ages 12 and 15.
I've been legally blind, with Albinism all of my life.  But within the last
few years I have had to recognize my challenges instead of covering them up.

Its been an interesting but rewarding journey.
