[blparent] blindparent REparents just don't understand

My mom was convinced that my moving to another state to be with Chris
and the baby was a bad idea. She was convinced I wouldn't be able to
handle the nights when she was teething and screaming in pain. A year
and a half later, we're all doing fine. She also questioned us
traveling on a train with Kahlan. She was convinced that Kahlan would
be kidnapped right under our noses and we wouldn't know it until it was
too late. We got from Vermont to New Jersey with absolutely no
kidnappings and Kahlan had a new experience. I almost went to The
Seeing Eye a month earlier than planned to get my dog and Chris and
Kahlan would have taken a train separately if that had happened. My mom
actually said to me, "what if someone sees Chris with the baby and
starts asking questions? What are they going to think when they see a
man alone with a baby?" As if fathers don't travel on a daily basis
with their children! Come on now! You're right; parents don't get it,
and honestly I think some of them don't want to.
Sorry; your messages just got me thinking about all this and I needed to vent.
