[blparent] updating and questions

The one self-threading needle I would personally not recommend is the One
Second Needle that has been featured on TV commercials and infomercial
offers. It's overpriced and frankly, it sucks. It comes unthreaded all the
time, it snags on what you are trying to sew, it breaks easily, and it has
given me nothing but hassles. I've had good luck making my own threading
loops out of fishing line or bread twist ties that I strip the paper off of,
but I don't do much sewing beyond patching up wounded stuffed animals
nowadays. Good luck.

Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may
kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at
evening.--Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.

First congratulations on becoming a Grandmother.
Now to sewing. There are self threading needles that are ok for small sewing
jobs. I found them at Walmart. If u stand the needle up in a bare of soap or
in a peace of cork, the thread snaps through a small slit and u can tie it
off and sew as normle.
Hope this helps.
