[blparent] New guide Dog.

Lucky you. Have a wonderful time.

I went back for my third dog when our girls were 5 and 8. I got to be good
friends with another mom there who had twin boys. The best thing we liked
about being there is that we did our own laundry, no family laundry, just
got to take care of us and have me-time. No interruptions in the bathroom,
long showers, and we splurged and bought chocolates to have with our coffee.

As much as we love our families, it is nice doing things for ourselves. Oh
yes, and no other-people messes to clean up, just the doggy ones, and those
don't count, hahahha!

Happy travels, tell us all about the new "kid" when you can.

Judy

Good luck and happy travels. I leave Sunday for GDB in Oregon, where I will
train with my third guide dog. I have a six-year-old who isn't looking
forward to my leaving, but she can't wait to meet my new guide dog when I
return.

Truth is tough. It will not break, like a bubble, at a touch; nay, you may
kick it about all day like a football, and it will be round and full at
evening.--Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.

Hello all,
I recently returned from Leader Dogs for the Blind with my first dog. Her
name is Jackie and she is a 17 month old black lab golden cross.
Things are going pretty well. Jackie and Jaxcen already love each other.
Jaxcen is two years old and thinks she should play with whatever he has. :)
Right now I put him in my Ergo on my back and we go. If any of you have
different siggestions of how to travel with a toddler and a guide dog please
let me know.
Best regards
Shelby
