[blparent] Braille Embosser

I had a transcribing service while raising the girls and before we moved. I
always transcribed from my note taker, as I was always on the go with the
kids and did my transcribing when they were busy and I was waiting for them
at school or other activities. This was very easy to do with the older
text-based M20, because I could proof and format by actually viewing the
line returns, finding and replacing them, etc. This is no longer possible
with the current Windows-based devices, which is too bad. You have to take
the unit's word for it that something is formatted correctly, or
painstakingly go through every line return indicator.

At any rate, I am no longer putting the Juliet to work, but still have it.
Nowdays, one would need a a USB serial cable for hook-up. Last I heard
those cords were not trustworthy, but things could have changed in the 7 or
8 years since I have used the embosser.

I used a braille embosser years ago and found it functional enough, once it
was finally set up properly. In fact, it's packed away in a closet
somewhere. I'd sell it off cheap except that it's probably woefully out of
date and likely no one would want it anymore. The only issue I had was that
it was difficult to get it set up right in the first place, so I had trouble
with the braille going crooked or not centering itself on the page, but once
those snags were figured out, the thing was a faithful old workhorse.

Hi I know this is not directly parent related but I'm hoping that someone in
the education field can help me out.

I'm wondering if anyone has experience with the Index Everette Braille
embosser?
Pros cons?

Has anyone used the Emprint spot dot by Viewplus?

I thought that using a Braille printer with one sided Braille would meet my
needs but I'm quickly finding that is not the case.

Thank you
