[blparent] Hiring a Driver to Drive Your Car

Yes, I have my own car. I bought it for my teenager, but he decided that he
didn't want to drive after all. I keep thinking I should sell it, but it
is very convenient.

I typically only use it for out of town trips. I pay by the day, not the
hour. When not driving I expect my driver to provide me with information
about the surroundings, like reading signs, describing things etc. These
are vacation type of trips. I've had him drive to a Renaissance festival,
a living history farm, a college visit for my son and this fall we are going
to the Mother Earth News fair.

He keeps the keys when not driving. I don't think he's going to take off
and leave me or I wouldn't have hired him in the first place. If I'm doing
something for a prolonged time and don't need him to do anything, we agree
on a place and time to meet. He then watches movies on his iPad or does
shopping of his own or whatever he wants to do.
