I, myself, have a number of issues with sand. Doesn't matter what kind of Santa it is. I have your shoes with it. Number one. Sand gets into the carpeting and ruins the fibers of the carpeting. Number two. Sand will scratch the hardwood floor to death!! This is why I do not, under any circumstance is, allow sand in the house. Getting back to the foam toys, some foam things that are very cool are the letters of the alphabet. Their Natalie great for puzzles. You can get numbers and shapes that, when you drop them into the water, they soak up the water like a sponge and you can stick them on the sides of the tub. My kids used to love it!! Then, I would let the letters dry out in a bucket or something like that. They can be reused and reused and reused. The kids just love them! To this day, my Virginia is 13 years old and loves the magnets. She plays with the magnets on the fridge all the time. She just loves them! I don't mind, either. As long as it keeps her happy. Instead of sand, in the past, I have bought about 25 pounds of pasta noodles when they are on sale. You can get great big 5 pound boxes of them at Costco or Sam's. You throw 25 pounds of pasta into one of those plastic waiting pools and they play in them forever. They roll them around. They're easy to vacuum for pick up.

This may sound crazy. But, another thing I have done in the past is get out my set of seven stainless steel mixing bowl. They are all different pitches. I give my kids each a spoon. Set the bulls out in the middle of the living room floor. They have their own little drum set. They think it's great. I let it go on for A little while. Then I'll put it away after a while. They like doing that with pans, as well.
