[blparent] Outgrowing an infant carrier

How do you travel in a taxi/uber with a toddler who has outgrown an infant car seat but is not yet big enough for a booster?  I know one option is to wear the child in a carrier, but what do you do with a big heavy convertible sized car seat if you're out. I assume there are no larger car seats that attach to strollers for easier transport?

Just wondering how travel is managed with a child of this age?
