If you go to a church, get to know the women with kids. Really get to know
them, don't come across as "I'm only interested in you for your baby". 

See if there is an NFB chapter around too, maybe some of their members have
babies. 
Know that things always work out. There is nothing magical about being able
to see, you just use your hands a whole lot. 
What exactly are your concerns about diapers? Make sure the genitles are
covered, that's really all there is to it. You already know what clean
genitles feel like, and the same will apply to your baby. 
Car seats have a five point harness, so you have a chest strap and a crotch
strap. Make sure all points are connected and that it is tight, and you're
good to go. 
Maybe if you can get more specific as to your concerns, and why you called
these out specifically, we can help more?

Haven't had time to post here because our time is taken up buy other things.
Anyway, to my answer.  When my wife and I were expecting, we used a doll to
practice the diapering and clothing of the baby.  It was very difficult and
both of us seemed to have a bit of trouble with it.  As we got used to
changing and feeding though, it became easier.  As far as the car seet, it's
all about touch mainly.  With infant carriers you half to position the head
toards the front so I'd just make sure you look with your hands at the
carrier before you put the baby in and know how the carrier is setup.  It
might be wise to have one before the baby is born so that you can practice
putting the doll in before the baby arrives.  The straps usually go over the
sholders and in between the legs goes the part that fassens and there's
usually two fasseners that go in the buckle.  I hope that helps you.

Hi all,

I'm wondering if you have any tips for learning the basics of baby-care such
as diapering, getting baby in and out of car seats, etc, etc? My husband and
I are both totally blind, and want to be as prepared as possible if we do
have children.. Not many of my local friends have babies, and the family
members that do often seem quite hesitant for me to take care of their
children beyond holding them and playing with them. 
I know some communities have child-care classes. Have any of you found these
sorts of community classes helpful? How did you all prepare for taking care
of children, especially if you did not have many babies in your lives to
learn from?
