[blparent] [parent] New blind parents

There are no real tutorials on how to be a parent, in my opinion. I learn
as I go. The best thing you can do is research so doctors and nurses think
you know what you are doing even if you don't because like it or not we are
held to different standards than the sighted population. Some of this also
depends on where you live. My child is now nine. I am a single parent with
not much help at all from anyone blind or sighted. We make it work. I live
in Chicago on the south side so I am really making it work while dealing
with Chicago craziness.

Thank you all for your replies! It's so nice to see so much support here.
Probably we will have a lot of concrete questions a few months later. But in
the mean time, me and my wife are going to study all these materials that
you guys recommended.
