[blparent] [parent] New blind parents

Hi Tony,
My congratulations, along with everybody else's. You'll find some things
come easily as you figure them out and some things you'll learn from others.
One thing which has surprised me as we have raised our now five-year-old boy
is how much he and I figured out together, even when he was only a year or
two old. I have been amazed at what he picked up, even figuring out how to
help me spoon feed him the very first time we tried it out ourselves.

As a starter for your acquired skills, I have attached the steps I and my
little boy have used for diaper changing. This is not, by any means, the
only want to do this, I'm sure, but it has worked very well for us until he
was potty trained. I wrote these steps down as an answer to someone's
request for tips on diapering, on this list a number of years ago. As you
will see, the original response was to the parents of a new daughter, but,
since I have a boy, you can be sure this is not a gender specific process.

We'll be looking for your posts to the list.

Blessing!

Thank you all for your replies! It's so nice to see so much support here.
Probably we will have a lot of concrete questions a few months later. But in
the mean time, me and my wife are going to study all these materials that
you guys recommended.
