Have the pharmacist mark the plunger part of a syringe with a notch. For example, let's say your dose is 1 mL. So you wanna make sure the pharmacist marks it so when you pull up to the notch, there will be 1 mL of medicine in the syringe. When I would measure liquid medicine for my son I would do the following: first, pull the plunger all the way up till it can't go anymore. Put the syringe in the bottle. Pull the plunger all the way down until it can't go anymore. This lets out any air bubbles that might be present. Finally, pull the plunger up to the notch. What I would also do is rubber band the syringe to the bottle and then when you're done with the medicine, through both away. That way you won't have any in accurate doses. HTH.

Thus far I have mostly passed the buck on this one to my sighted wife, but there are times when it would be good for me to do this on my own. I have considered trying to do it by approximating how far out to pull the medicine dropper based on my fingers. Any tips?
