[blParent] Looking for some good apps and books

Hello, fellow blind parents. I'd love your responses to a couple of things:

Our two children, ten- and eight-year-old girls, are spending time on
their laptops and getting very good at using them. I'd like a way to
monitor their activity just to make sure they're safe. I mostly do
that by talking to them about what they're doing and making sure they
don't have their computers in their room at night. Please let me know
if you've come across accessible apps or strategies to just make sure
they'll be OK online.

Also, the ten-year-old wants a phone, which I'm OK about getting for
her. She herself has told me about apps that limit screen time (she's
almost eleven and really wants this phone.) I'm thinking of either
waiting another year or getting her the phone, but I wonder if there
are accessible apps that limit screen time.

Finally, I'm looking for a few math and science resources. I use
BookShare and have found some books there, but for some reason can't
seem to get them to download as Daisy files with images, which seems
to be a good way to work with them.

I know this is a lot. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Jen
