[blParent] Using cane / dog with stroller

Yes, the frame packs we used back in the day, were wonderful, and I could
easily carry up to 40 pounds, and anyway, by that time they are growing
their way out of the pack.

We have an ergo and the frame ones are now found under hiking baby packs. I
like the frame one because I can carry my kiddo almost like a backpack and
it leaves me feeling more secure and distributes the weight nicely.
Specifically we have a Deuter Kid Comfort.
The only stroller I have is the BOB which is sturdy and I'll pull it behind
me with the kiddo facing back, but it feels super clunky, so I tend to opt
for the carrying packs over using the stroller.

All told, I haven't used any of the above all that much with the pandemic,
but that's my limited experience thus far with mobility and my now
11-month-old.

Sincerely,
Natalie

The soft carriers have gotten better which is why the frame
ones may not be being made anymore, technology improved so they are no
longer needed.

Hi Stephanie,

The frame pack allowed me to carry our young ones up to about forty pounds.
The carrying tapered off for us for good once they were about three, but, of
course, the more mobile kids get, the less you will find needing any
carrier. They're great for when you know the little legs will tire easily.
Ours really liked being in their frame pack.

Thanks Ken, yes I may have been unclear in my earlier email. I have such a
carrier that works for now. My concern is how I will manage when he's too
big / heavy for me to carry (i am pretty petite) And I want to use the
stroller. Actually there are already times when I'd like to use the stroller
for various reasons.

old. When i was in your position we got a carrier that straps onto you. We
chose to get the one that straps on the front of you. Your child can sit in
this either facing you or the can be facing outwards. WE got ours from
Walmart and we still have it today even though we don't use it anymore. I
need to get it out and see if it has an expiration date on it cause if not a
local family that i know can use it. I am also a dog user and a cane user,
this worked very well for us and it allowed me to still carry my children,
work my guide or use my cane and also be able to carry the infant seat with
me in times when i needed it as well.

go with my guide dog, but I am a cane user as well. Thanks! - Stephanie
